Creme has always been known for its soul food brunch dishes, particularly its chicken and waffles, and the restaurant has reinvented itself in a new location.
The Downtowner: Creme’s Chicken and Waffle Brunch Returns to 14th Street
Creme Restaurant and Bar and their famous chicken and waffles brunch returns July 1 to Columbia Heights. From 2005 to 2013, Creme was located on U Street, but closed in October of 2013 due to the construction and development of the U Street Corridor. Creme’s new location is inside the new luxury apartment building of Capitol View on 14th St. NW.
Creme Cafe was forced to close down last year after its building was demolished to create a new apartment complex. But the cafe has rebuilt itself in a new home on 14th Street, calling its new venture Creme Restaurant & Bar.

Creme Cafe closed its 15-year-old U Street NW dining room late last year as the building was torn down to make way for a new apartment development. But the American establishment with a Southern twist, now dubbed Creme Restaurant & Bar, has already found a new home at 2436 14th St. NW.
